The Marshal de Saxe won several battles. Louis XV, grateful appointed him Marshal of France and game him Chambord as well as a few privileges. The Marshal de Saxe bought the Chateau de la Grange, now named after him. His passing in these place gives us the beautiful decorations on the big gallery. Knight, he made trophies of battles and hunts on the drawninggs of la Touche. The Chateau is surrounded by an enormous park enclosed by thick walls.
